John J. MacGillivray


John was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 1984 and has been with Gorman Nason since 2004.

Prior to obtaining his law degree John completed degrees in both science and physical education. He uses his education and varied experience to his advantage in the work he does for an equally diverse range of clients.

John practices in a wide variety of areas include Civil and Commercial Litigation, Property & Real Estate Law, Municipal Law, Wills and Estates, Corporate and Commercial.

John has distinguished himself in a number of cases, including representation for a national organization in two significant defamation actions. On the business side he has incorporated numerous companies and acted for a number of residential and commercial developers in the acquisition, development and sale of commercial and residential real estate.

John is a life-long resident of the Saint John region and is well-known for his community activities. He has given his time to various sports organizations and he’s also been active in local charities and organizations.
